This is my color and type project. This project was for my Interactive Design course, where I analyzed three different apps that show a good use of color and typography.
For my color and type project, I utilized Photoshop as my primary design software. I placed screenshots of my selected apps, Starbucks, Crunchyroll, and Fruit Ninja, into a Photoshop document and I created screen mockups using clipping masks and blending modes to produce a realistic effect. I provided callouts for each app with detailed annotations describing how their use of design is effective.
This required a thorough understanding of color and type concepts. All images, icons, graphics, and text are original and built in Photoshop
During this project and my design process, I wanted to find a way to showcase these apps in a cohesive design that brings in elements unique to its app/theme. I did this by repeating the layout throughout each design callout and bringing in the color palettes into each design to emulate the theme/color scheme of that particular app.
The layout of this project provided a visually interesting and dynamic design. It offers good contrast while matching the color palette of the apps that are being reviewed. Offering the viewer content in a straightforward yet visually appealing manner.
