OVERVIEW

Client Introduction

Bradley University is a top-ranked private university in Peoria, Illinois. Bradley University’s Interactive Media Department hosts an annual FUSE event at the Peoria Riverfront Museum which is a long standing tradition. This is an event that is produced all by students.

NEW DIRECTION

Previous Experience

The FUSE website showcases the exhibits created by Bradley University students, providing detailed information about individual teams and team members. It also allows users to search for students and view faculty and staff within the department. Additionally, it serves as the platform for industry professionals and VIPs to sign in, view event details, and RSVP for the event. However, the previous iteration of the FUSE website faced several challenges in terms of layout and consistency. These issues hindered the website’s ability to present a clear and professional representation of the event and its content.

Key challenges included:

  • Content Clarity: Information was not always presented in a straightforward and easily understandable manner.

  • Lack of Content Hierarchy: The absence of a clear structure made it difficult for users to prioritize important details.

  • Visual Inconsistency: Inconsistent design elements affected the overall aesthetic and user experience.

  • Lack of Professional Aesthetic: The overall look and feel did not align with the professional standards expected for an industry-facing event.

These areas highlighted the need for a more polished, cohesive, and user-friendly redesign to improve both the user experience and the professional image of the FUSE event.

SOLUTION

Scope

After defining the project goals, I conducted thorough research and performed a competitive analysis, comparing various website layouts and functionalities. I developed a cohesive visual system to ensure a clear and consistent style across the site. Through multiple iterations of wireframes and prototypes, I tested and refined different design approaches to optimize the user experience. The final website features engaging interactions and animations, enhancing overall user engagement and interaction.
