This is my poster project. This project was for my Interactive Design course, where I designed a promotional poster featuring a subject matter that interested me.
My poster design is based on a make-up master class for the Huda Beauty Empowered make-up palette. This poster is meant to market a make-up master class that would take place within a beauty/make-up store or hosted by a particular make-up artist, showcasing tips and tricks from industry professionals. The audience is targeted to those with interest or involvement in the make-up/fashion industry. The desired outcome is for the viewer to register and join the masterclass.
For my poster project, I utilized Adobe Illustrator as my leading software. All designs, illustrations, photos, and content are original and were created using Illustrator. The first step I took for this project was sketching various design layouts and brainstorming the content and flow of the design. Once I had a few drafts and outlines for the envisioned design, I created a few artboards in Illustrator to create various iterations of the poster, looking at different ways to organize the content and convey the desired message. After completing several layouts, I picked the one that translated most effectively.
I made various creative/design decisions throughout the process of my project. My chosen medium for this project was photographed images. The reason I went with this design choice was to showcase the actual product being advertised in the make-up masterclass.
This allows the audience to connect with the product and be enticed to join. I included images of the palette cover so people could easily recognize it and purchase it to practice the tips and tricks they learned in this master class. There is a photo of some of the eyeshadow shades to give a glimpse into the colors that will be used. I also included a picture of a potential eyeshadow look that could be created using the Empowered Palette.
In this poster project, the subject matter was presented well with interesting and original artistry. It incorporated images and text that were visually stimulating with a well-designed structure. The design provides a simple, direct, and yet attention-getting message to the viewer.
